OJMFoods produces a range of packaged food products — snacks, condiments, and health foods sold through local distributors and retail outlets across Rajasthan.
The distributor model worked, but it came with familiar drawbacks: the brand had no direct relationship with the end buyer, no visibility into who was purchasing or why, and margins were consistently eroded by the distribution chain.
The ask was to launch a direct-to-consumer online store — one that would let health-conscious buyers across India find and purchase their products directly, cutting out intermediaries and building a customer base the brand could actually talk to.
Project Details
Building a brand without owning the customer
The business was generating sales, but all customer contact points belonged to distributors and retailers — not the brand. There was no way to understand buying behaviour, get feedback, or run any kind of direct marketing.
With no D2C channel, the brand also had no way to capitalise on the growing segment of health-conscious consumers buying food products online. That demand was flowing to Amazon and other marketplaces — which extract commission and further distance the brand from its buyers.
The goal was to fix this with a clean, fast, and credible own-brand online store.
