The Brief

A gallery-quality store for Indian art — without the gallery overhead.

Eyeconic India Art curates and sells Indian art — original paintings, limited-edition prints, and collectible pieces from artists working across the country. The brand had built a following on Instagram and was generating genuine buyer interest, but their sales process was entirely manual: DMs, UPI transfers, and handwritten delivery notes.

The challenge with selling art online is specific: buyers need to see a piece in far more detail than a square Instagram post can provide. A painting's texture, colour accuracy, scale, and medium all matter — and without a proper product page, the conversation always shifted to WhatsApp before the buyer had enough information to commit.

The brief was to build an art store that matched the visual quality of the work — with zoom-enabled photography, artist context, and a checkout that was as clean as the buying experience should be.

The Problem

Great art. Broken buying experience.

Art buyers need to feel connected to a piece before they purchase it — especially online where they can't see it in person. That connection requires context: the artist's story, the technique, the dimensions, what the piece looks like in a room. Instagram square images, no matter how beautiful, can't deliver that.

The result was a long, friction-filled buying journey: discover on Instagram, DM to ask questions, share UPI ID, arrange delivery manually. Each step was a potential drop-off point. High-interest buyers were converting at a fraction of their potential.

All sales via Instagram DMs — slow, manual, and unscalable
No high-detail product pages — buyers couldn't evaluate pieces remotely
Fragmented inventory across posts, saved stories, and WhatsApp
No payment trail — informal UPI transfers with no receipts
The Solution

A store that gives art the context it deserves.

Built to answer every question a buyer has before they'll commit — from dimensions to delivery, from artist story to payment security.

Art Gallery Store

A full WooCommerce store with zoom-enabled product images, size and medium details, and edition information — giving buyers the visual confidence they need before purchasing art online.

Artist Profile Pages

Dedicated artist pages with biography, creative process, and curated collection — building the personal connection that drives art purchases more than any product description.

Collection Filtering

Browse by style, medium (oil, watercolour, digital, mixed), and price range — so collectors with a specific taste can find relevant work without scrolling the entire catalogue.

Secure Online Checkout

Razorpay payment with order confirmation, e-invoice, and automated order receipts — replacing informal UPI transfers with a proper transaction trail for both buyer and seller.

Artwork Shipping Integration

Shipping rate calculator with packaging notes for fragile artwork — clearly communicating how pieces are packed and handled, reducing buyer hesitation around art shipping.

Instagram Feed Integration

An embedded Instagram feed on the homepage bridges the social discovery journey and the store — buyers who first found the brand on Instagram land directly on shoppable content.

The Outcome

From DMs to a proper gallery store — with receipts.
